Why is Heroes such a big deal? What makes it so captivating? For one, the writers of the hit television series Heroes strove and accomplished making the plot extremely realistic and applicable to the current world. It takes on a global setting and culturally aware cast that most shows for some reason or another seem to leave out. One minute you are in India with a geneticist named Mohinder Suresh, then Tokyo, Japan with Hiro Nakamura and Ando Masahashi, and then New York with the politician Nathan Patrelli.
The dramatic plot of Heroes draws the audiences in and the plot twists is what keeps them wanting more. Heroes starts off with about ten seemingly unconnected people all over the world who being to discover their supernatural powers after an eclipse. As they struggle to control their powers and keep their sanity the plot unfolds and the audience begins to see how each character is connected to one another, sometimes in more intense ways than you would expect. The plot goes from a geneticist trying to find where all the supernatural people are, to a painter who predicts New York exploding in the future, and a psychopath killer on the loose trying to murder these people with powers. In other words the first season is about “sav[ing] the cheerleader, [to] save the world”.
Peter Patrelli – can be argued to be one of the most main charaters especially in the first season. He is an easily lovable character because of his selfless nature. He goes from struggling with the idea that he can fly to the thought that he can absorb anyone’s power. Once he learns this he struggles with what his true purpose is in life, and later decides that he has to save the world.
Claire Bennet – is the indestructible cheerleader whose world soon turns completely upside down when she learns that her father might not be who she thinks he is, and that someone is coming to kill her.
Hiro Nakamura – is the fun loving character who comes from Tokyo, Japan and truly has desired to be a hero ever since he was a little boy. So when he discovers his ability
