It is without question that race relations have improved as we are so far removed from the historical horrors of plantation slavery.
Truth be told though race relations are kinfolk to human relations and the two move along parallel lines so has one improved so does the other. Human relations have become better as the world became more educated and thinking people of many nations have seen how futile and illiterate it is to judge someone based on skin colour.
Racism if one is to think about it with an open mind did not even start with race. It started with economics. White Europeans left their shores not with colour of skin but the colour of gold at the forefront of the mission. It was the irresistible lore of undiscovered wealth that was the driving force behind these adventures. It was upon discovering that aided by equally greedy African chieftains willing to take a bribe, the inferiority of weaponry possessed by natives of these strange lands and naivete on the part of the vulnerable that the Europeans latched on to this evil trade to provide free labour to the greedy rich.
If the Europeans intention was to enlighten these people colonisation wouldn't be such a bad word but it was purely to exploit which resulted in the genocide of the weak and those who resisted. So racism was a by product of greed as the whites had to institutionalise the fallacy of superiority in order to legitimise and justify the dehumanisation of their victims.
Race relations was forced to evolve once the Europeans developed their blood economies and when industrialisation through modernisation dictated that machinery made more sense than manual labour resulting in the lifting of the yolk of slavery. The coloured population became more educated and started to move up the economic ladder and its is economic advancement that is the great leveler in the scheme of race relations improvement.
Now both poor whites and coloured peoples see that they all work side by side in the hallways of the corporate world and realize that it was never about race but about the the other "race". The race to the top. Yes the powers that be wrote the books making everything black bad and the systematised brainwashing and fear mongering kept the races apart and in contempt of each other because the old but tried and tested philosophy of "divide and rule" always worked.
