Owner Review of 2006 Honda Ridgeline

Hearing about the specs of the vehicle and hearing a review from an owner are two different things. This review is basically an update for those looking to by a used 2006 Honda Ridgeline. I personally bought the 2006 Honda Ridgeline in 2009 and have loved it ever since. The prices are generally low due to the economy and because of the push for smaller fuel efficient vehicles. Even though you are buying used, you can rest assured because the vehicle is a Honda. I have not had a single problem with the vehicle for as long as I have owned it.

Is it useful as a truck?

Short Answer: A little.

Long Answer: The 2006 Honda Ridgeline has the ability to carry five passengers; however the truck bed is a little small. It can fit a dirt bike diagonally, but needs the bed extender if you want to carry more than one. The bed still useful, but many things that you would use a truck for, such as a mattress or couch, would not fit in the bed without the bed extender. One thing that gives the Ridgeline an edge over other trucks is there is a lockable trunk under the truck bed. This way you can store stuff in the back of your vehicle without the worry of it getting stolen.

Is it comfortable?

Short Answer: Yes, if you're in the front seats.

Long Answer: I have the RTL, which is the top trim with leather seats, electronic driver seat, heated front seats, and dual temperature control for the driver and the passenger. The front seats are very comfortable and there is an abundance of space. However, the seats in the back are stiff and do not recline.

Is it good on gas?

Short Answer: Yes, 20 mpg.

Long Answer: For a truck, 20 mpg is really good. Though, you are sacrificing power to have better fuel economy. You can still tow 5000 lbs with the 2006 Honda Ridgeline, but it is a little slow to accelerate due to only a V6 Engine.

Who is this truck for?

Short Answer: Active person who does not commute very far and is not a general contractor.

Long Answer: This truck is perfect for me because I do not commute very far and do not have to worry about carrying large loads. The truck is perfect for when I want to go dirt biking, if I want to tow a boat, or for most of my stuff when I am moving. For the larger pieces of furniture I can just tow a trailer.
