Is there such a thing as absolute truth

by Jael Ravalyn

Truth supersedes humanity and the imagination of the mind and so is absolute.  Humanity’s use of consciousness, competitiveness, and social rules have made pale representations of truth that can be considered relative/conditional.  What is relative are the rules governing rules about how people communicate with one another, but this is not truth.  These are human constructs, not truth—they are vain imaginings.  How faithful any one member of the language of such vanity is creates the relativity that is then ignorantly blanketed over everything else. But TRUTH is out of the realm of control; it cannot be made relative because of thought, will, or imagination.

Consider a situation of Post Modern Relativity: The oldest member of the family is dying in front of another member.  The almost deceased imparts a relatively impossible final request with pleading eyes—the request is promised by the family member to be completed knowing full well it will not be.  Telling the “truth” about the realistic constraints on the possibility of even attempting the request is generally excused because of how futile such information would be to the dying and humoring is better than disappointing.  But the TRUTH of this situation lies in the futility of the request and futility of the scenario itself. Truth transcends both individuals: life is finite and love can cause a person to do/say anything.

TRUTH is not whether you are Republican or Democrat, Scientist or Philosopher, American or Canadian, Capitalist or Socialist, or any other human made concept that ultimately is worth less than the dust that covers anthologies of the same.  Truth is human need. Truth is perpetuation of nature including human existence despite human intervention. Truth is how small the Earth is in comparison to the vastness of space.  Truth is how small humanity is to the vastness of Earth. Truth is how such reality can prove itself with one hurricane, one Tsunami, one volcanic eruption, or earthquake which can reduce everyday squabbles to nothing at the feet of such power.  Truth is how animals will eat animals to survive. Truth is how animals prey on animals for reasons other than food: reasons humans cannot stop nor understand.  Truth is how hope comes with the cry of every newborn babe.  Truth is how responsibility for another living thing can be salvation from all things petty but is often inexplicably ignored.
