No. This is just a rhetorical tool called labeling. The fact is that the label “racist” has no basis in fact when applied to the Republican Party. Labeling is a simple way to invite stereotyping of a person or a group in general. The term “racist” does not apply to the Republicans as a group, just as calling the Democrats “socialist” does not apply to the Democrats as a group; both labels are designed only to provoke fear, hate and other negative connotations.
I can remember a time when the word “communist” evoked fear, hate and other negative connotations; the word “communist” was often use to discredit someone or a group of people.
Labeling is used by everyone from children to politicians as a rhetorical technique; labeling invites fallacious logic often resulting in unwarranted discrimination.
But, what is this question really asking? One might think that we are asking; is the Republican Party more racist than the Democratic Party? Or one might think it is asking does the Republican Party embrace policies that are racist or maybe even a party of bigots.
First of all, both major parties Democrats and Republicans have members that are racist and even bigots. Holding regards for one race over another means you are a racist. You might prefer one race over another for a mate; that makes you a racist.
Preferring one race over another for certain things is racism; preferring one race over another in all things not only makes you a racist, it also makes you a bigot. You should remember, not all racists or bigots are white; in fact, it is out and out bigotry to think that racism is confined to any one race. Giving derogatory attributes, having feelings of intolerance or hating all members of a group makes you a bigot.
Let’s be very clear. Those that harbor hate based on race are bigots, but not all bigotry is based on race. So, if one hates homosexuals, that person is a bigot; but, they might not hate anyone based on race.
The group we’d classify as bigots contains haters of different races, but that is far from being the whole of the group. For example, those that hate all Republicans are bigots.
Some think that conservative policies are racist policies. Conservatives want changes to come slowly in an orderly fashion. So, if you’re in a minority that has less privileges than most, you want change to happen quickly so you can have what the majority has.
