Top job search engines on the Internet

Three of the large meta job search engines are Indeed, SimplyHired ,  and JuJu.  Which one you choose to use is largely a matter of aesthetics but I like Indeed the best.  Indeed remembers the criteria I used from the last several searches I made.  So the fact that the job search for me and the one I do for my wife are totally different does not matter.  I can still find the criteria I used on both searches stored and retrievable once I return to the website.  If you have taken a lot of time, care, and attention to detail in constructing job search filters, it is quite convenient not to have to reconstruct them every time you want to search for jobs again.

Some of the job search filters on other sites will unexpectedly dump your search terms if you switch from the normal search mode to the advanced mode.  The Indeed website knows you probably want to keep the jobs search terms you already entered.  Indeed also allows you to pick the time period of your job search.  So every time you come to the website you may elect to see the new jobs that arrived since the last time you were there.

When you actually click on a job you will likely be taken to a smaller job search site like Dice or Careerbuilder.  There you will see the particular job you clicked on.  If looking for a job is your job then you could still use the smaller job engines to host your resume so you can still apply electronically.   Just do all your searching via the meta search engine such as Indeed.

Indeed allows you filter out words you don't want appearing in your job search and it allows you to mandate words you must have to make the search useful for you.  For instance if you are a Java programmer with no management experience you may easily filter in all the Java jobs and filter out all the management jobs.

One unique aspect of the Indeed search engine is to search on say $300,000.  If you only want to see high level jobs that deliver high level pay you can configure a job search that will do that.

Be sure to take advantage of the fact that Indeed and Simply Hired will email job search results to you.  After you have perfected your search terms sit back and let the jobs come to you.
