The Bible is a tool for learning to live a life that God and Jesus intended for us.  It is as applicable today as it was when the Old Testament’s teachings and stories were provided and then even further provided for in the New Testament and the teachings of Jesus.  In both testaments, there is God’s need for us, his children, to be full of love, tolerance, humility, patience, and faith.  Jesus lived his life as an example for us to follow.  If we leaned more on his teachings today, and that of  Bible, we would truly be a better society for it and we, along with our children would not be craving, especially in America, the need for more possessions instead of the need to be a person of love, tolerance, humility, and patience.  As such the following are examples of how the Bible can positively affect some basic characteristics of men and women in a society where television, movies, music and games, tug at us to want those things that are not really important or which corrupt our faith.

Tolerance.  How can one tolerate arrogance? How can one tolerate someone who loves another person of
