In a day and time of bad economies, skyrocketing budgets, high divorce rates and crime, we are witness to governmental, administrative, and judicial challenges. Difficulties can create the worst of times. People are on edge, overwhelmed by social and spiritual woes. Developing, nurturing, and maintaining a powerful, unyielding character is of the utmost importance. How do we obtain quality characteristics? Are these characteristics obtained socially? Perhaps, the way to a great character is spiritual, having little to do with the social aspects of living life.
Social character and Christian character differ from one another in that one supersedes the other. Exercising both social and spiritual characteristics is not only a quality, but a survival tool. Together, they equip us with social and spiritual agility. Wisdom, understanding, and knowledge create a wealth of awareness that empowers us to do amazing things. In perpetuity, these actions build character and allow us to live a Christian lifestyle that answers the call of duty. There was a time when morality and ethics had no questions. These concepts were “understood.” However, today honor and quality, integrity and courage are in question.
Humanity has a greater responsibility. Social characteristics are rooted in the richness of good Christian characteristics. Spiritual characteristics allow us to function on higher ground. “As does the Sun rise and set in harmony, so does the spirit rise and fall in conflict.” If we are girded with a spirit-filled character, knowledge and wisdom become the overseers of folly and foolishness. As Messengers in good will and faith, our truths aggressively conflict with wickedness and falsehoods, conquering evil. We live in a world of spiritual warfare. The victory is ours when we develop a good Christian character as a life-skill.
What it means to have Social Character
A good social character is what makes up a person in a worldly way. It distinguishes who people are in public settings and at home in their private lives. It gives a person clout. Good characteristics are constant and usually boasts exemplary social skills such as honesty, generosity, and trustworthiness. Leaders often have distinctive characteristics. An authoritative individual of good character and report are more often than not exemplary figures. In contrast, some individuals are described as having “a strange” or “bad character.” Generally, good social characteristics
