One drunk told me once, “God is not lost." The reader may justifiably react with the thought, 'well, this man has no credibility."' This is an unarguably correct assessment; with; against which; no reasonable argument may be made. The author merely wishes to express the wisdom expressed by one to whom so much self destructive behavior has been expended. Quite simply put, the particular soul does not blame God.
God, being omniscient and omnipresent is; by definition; being everywhere at all times and knowing everything. One must inevitably then, investigate thoughts, feelings, beliefs, and events; etcetera; leading up to motivation of this question formulation.
That is, if one is interested enough to know. Most individuals lack interest and prefer to blame the creator of the universe when wishes remain unfulfilled for extended periods. God understands this fact of human nature. This is why He, in His infinite wisdom, sent one third of the trinity to suffer undeserved pain and humiliation as propitiation of all bad things that ever did or will happen as a result of human behavior.
While conceptually difficult to comprehend, scripture prophesied Messiah from the time of Adam. One wonders if the original tree of knowledge of good and evil fruit eaters; choosing obedience over free will; would have made redemptive power of crucified salvation unnecessary.
This conjecture is moot waste of thought and irrelevant to spiritual growth. It is interesting to contemplate nonetheless, an image of God, Holy Spirit, and Jesus; conferring in a huddle; forming a plan to save the world; before eternity started.
When things work out smoothly and wishes become reality on a regular basis, acceptance of Christos as Lord and Master is easy, simple, and fun. When bumps on the happy road of destiny break the ball joints in our spiritual vehicles, one says, “Where is God?”
The answer is simple. He is in the breath of every creature; period. A valid assumption is that Satan is there, too. This writer merely wishes the battle to be over, displaying indifference to which is victor, gaining the spoils. This narcissistic, cynical apathy is most likely the greatest enemy of a self actualized and spiritually enlightened individual in society. So what, nobody cares.
God is found in every unselfish act performed in this world. He is in Mother Teresa's fingers as she comforts a dying leper. He is in the overcoming refrain to violence. (The punch in Ali verses Foreman that was never taken). He is in the surgeon's hand during surgery. He is one drunk picking another off the street. He is in the dissemination of sanitary heroin needles. He is in the acceptance of a lost limb. He is in the garden of Gethsemane, praying so fervently for strength to do God's will; great drops of blood are sweating from his forehead. He is in compassion. He is in us all, some more than others.
