Orchids are mostly grown as houseplants and it is wrong to think that if you are a beginner you will never be able to grow an orchid. You must however read to find out how to grow orchids the right way like any other plant they also need individual care and maintenance which you can not know on your own without learning it from an expert source. Equipped with the right growing information you will be able to grow orchids without much effort.

The basic tips on how to grow orchids are:

You must know how and when to water these beauties. The orchids flourish when watered periodically, watering after seven days is usually enough. The roots of orchids are the main storing area of water.

Each individual variety of orchids has different watering requirements some like dry out between watering and some do not. The orchid plant should be watered and then let the water dry out in the way that almost all of it falls down before you put it back in its pot.

The growing material should feel spongy before you should water the orchids again and you can feel it through your finger. However remember it should not be totally dry. Some varieties of orchid like Epidendrum and Paphiopedilum however need watering after three days.

Orchids have high humidity needs. You can spray them with a water gun if there is low humidity level or place a bowl of water or humidity tray close to the orchid plants. The ideal humidity level for orchids is from 50 % onwards.

They other essential requirement of orchids is medium light. 4 hours of sun exposure is enough for orchids. Some orchid varieties however do well in indirect light only like Phals. You can also use artificial light if you do not get four hours of sunlight.

Orchids are not very particular about day and night temperatures. They do well in normal house temperatures and the flotation in the temperature stimulate better growth instead of being harmful an orchid. The night temperature should be lower than the day temperatures which are usually in homes, that is all the orchid require for growing healthy and happy.

Follow the above rules and you will face no problem with growing orchids, however remember each orchid variety is different and may require more or less water, more or less light and more or less of heat. Get as much of information about the orchid variety you are growing as you can if you are a beginner and you will have no problem with growing orchids.

With the right season the poinsettia plant will grow as vigorously as before. Keep the plant misted and watered without over watering it. When there is no danger of frost left, take it outdoors while providing it shade from the too hot sun that will prove dangerous for poinsettia plant.

At this stage pinching will help to keep the plant in shape otherwise it will become rangy. At this stage they need fertilizing and misting.

By following the above direction you will have a healthy poinsettia.
