'happening' could be 'happening' right now, my first impulse is to toy with the notion, appear flip, sarcastic. But what does it say about my own beliefs when I do. Perhaps my belief rides on the elements of the good book as mere folklore and nothing in folklore ever comes to true.
I remember similar de-funkable situations occurring in the past, a grilled cheese sandwich becoming an image of the Virgin Mary, a light pattern on a building resembling the blessed mother, or the potato found in a church kitchen with another such similar image created by its form. While I can't scientifically explain any of these to properly de-funk, I'm not inclined to be a believer of them as anything more than perchance. It is just a burn pattern on a grilled sandwich (if it were anything more, it would be encased in glass in the foyer of the Vatican and not sold on e-bay) or a ray of light streamimg at just the right angle onto a building.
I think in the wide scope of things, we all (that being those with Christian beliefs) collectively believe that something could happen, Christ could return, but when things happen like this hovering event in Time Square (insert another grin here), our brains work double time to crash the idea.
While I will work on my own personal ideals of theology and scripture, it's by far out of my ability to tackle religion, religious occurrences, or any questions derived thereof.
As for levitating specters or whatever else the case, suffice it to say that, until something a little more concrete (or believable for that matter) occurs, I'll just be here waiting for a white horse.
