It is very important to send a thank you letter after an interview, because you not only want to remain fresh in the mind of the interviewer, but you want to remain positive and focused during your job search. Keeping motivated while searching for a job involves a positive attitude, and if you are no longer cordial or civil, you may risk becoming negative, and undermining your attempts at finding meaningful employment.

Social graces dictate that sending a thank you letter after an interview is of critical importance to making a lasting impression.Once an interview is complete, it is essential that you initiate contact with the employee that granted you the interview. Sending a thank you letter is just one method to reiterate your interest in gaining meaningful employment within that company. Being courteous should also be a consideration, not just from the possible employment realm, but from a common decency point of view.

There are many reasons why sending a thank you letter after an interview is important, and it should be done in a timely fashion, and without any extra pomp and circumstance. The old adage that you catch more flies with honey is deep rooted in success.

Sending a thank you letter after the interview is of the utmost imperative. Not only is this action courteous, it also helps to reinforce your name to the potential employer. When giving interviews, there are many candidates that are seen throughout the process. Standing out takes more than just an impressive resume and interview. Keeping your name in the minds of the employers is essential. Many resumes are discarded immediately after the interview process, but some may be kept on file for future use, and yours just may be one of those.

A follow up thank you letter is good because it just might be enough to get you a second interview, in which case you can then prepare better to knock the ball out of the park during your next interview. A thank you letter also shows the employer that you are thoughtful and persistent. Handling oneself with the proper decorum and deportment during the whole interview process can be invaluable in the eyes of the employer.
