How little I know
It often surprises me,
And disturbs my ego,
When I am forced to acknowledge,
How little I know.
My accumulated knowledge from
Seventy years on this earth;
Has steadily expanded,
Since the day of my birth.
And yet as I continue
My sojourn through life,
And keep learning more,
From good times and strife,
I discover I know nothing,
If wisdom is not there;
For like a car with no steering,
Knowledge alone goes nowhere.
Knowledge for its own sake,
With only its self pride,
Accomplishes nothing,
Without wisdom as its guide.
So, when I think I'm so smart,
And become a know-it-all boor,
God gives me a wake up call,
For I left wisdom behind the door.
Now, the older I get,
And the more that I grow,
The more I can see,
Just how little I know.

My ignorance competes not to complete.
How little I know, you would soon agree,
is
How little I know
It often surprises me,
And disturbs my ego,
When I am forced to acknowledge,
How little I know.
My accumulated
