“Monsters Take Bite Out of Life”
From inception to perception, upon big movie screen,
monsters have held their grand title for all to be seen.
Gnarling, crawling, and howling at who may ever pass,
what if time let them have some fun, wouldn’t it be a gas!
Take, for example, old Count Dracula, with all his charm,
trading in his fangs for a day down on a sun - filled farm,
and Frankenstein looking beat, complexion a mean green,
dreams to be a ballet dancer, thinking he is quite supreme.
Dragging all his cares behind, the Mummy leads on the day,
then hops aboard a New York sub to catch a Broadway play.
Wolfman takes a different path; his interests are but just one,
to open up his own barber shop; wolfie thinks it would be fun!
Jack the Ripper, Jekyll and Hyde, creature from the black lagoon,
joined the Army, and so partied, until they howled at the moon.
Flying saucers, giant spiders, men becoming lab – created flies,
all team together, despite stormy weather, flying kites in skies.
In every scary situation, a sense of laughter must show through,
Especially to classic monsters, as always exhibiting to be so blue,
who always meet an impending finale, not always their true wish,
instead wanting happy ending, imaging how life could be sweetish!
