Freelance writing

If you enjoy writing and are passionate about specific subjects or just enjoy learning new things then perhaps a career in freelance writing may be just what you are looking for. There are many sites which employ freelance writers including Helium, Associated Content, Demand Studios and Constant Content to name a few. Helium offers upfront payments to starred writers as well as the opportunity to write for publishers for as much as $200 per article. Associated Content offers call for content and upfront payments to US residents as does Demand Studios. Constant Content offers many high paying writing assignments as well as the opportunity to list your own work for a fee.

Google AdSense

A good free way to make money from home is displaying Google AdSense advertising on a blog. If you want to create your own blog for free you can use Blogger. You can write on specific niches, such as Valentine’s Day or a sporting event and the ads that appear will be related to your content.  If you pick a popular niche, use popular keywords and build backlinks to your blog you should get some targeted visitors and some Google AdSense earnings. When you get a decent volume of traffic you may want to add affiliate products from Commission Junction, ClickBank or Amazon to your blog and make a percentage of any sales you make.

If you would like to explore high paying paid work from home then you can use an online job site such as GetaFreelancer, oDesk or eLance.  These sites have a wide range of jobs to suit everyone from freelance writing jobs to web programming to accounting. You can bid on jobs and set your own hourly rate as well as the number of hours you wish to work. Getting your first job is the hardest part of using these sites but after your first job and some positive feedback you should be able to bid on higher paid work from home jobs.  

Be an online tutor

If you are an expert at a particular topic then you may wish to become an online tutor. Here to you can set your own hours and hourly wage. Buddyschool is a good online tutoring site.

Open an eBay store

If you are creative or have a knack of picking up bargains at markets then you may wish to open your own eBay store. You can sell anything on eBay so if you can make jewelry, clothes or shoes it may be the way to make some money from home. If you have some cash to invest you may wish to buy some items in bulk and then sell them on individually at a higher price.
