Poetry: Life or death

by Susan R Abrams

Created on: January 28, 2010   Last Updated: January 29, 2010

The earth is like a glove

wearing fingers of the dead.

The sun slips into the ground

like an old friend

not afraid.

Darkness comes like an intruder,

until it's ready to leave.

Sun's up!

Taken for granted,

until last breaths

of life brings up old regrets.

unsettled frets -

Wait, I'm not ready, yet!
