The Ox is the second sign of the Chinese Zodiac and is the sign for people born in 1913, 1925, 1937, 1949, 1961, 1973, 1985, and 1997.

Oxen are generally eloquent, easy-going, dependable, determined, stubborn, patient, competent and strong. They can also be eccentric, and while generally quite tolerant they can be short tempered. They are trusting and seek advice from companions, however tend to rely on there own judgment in decision-making. Oxen tend to be home-bodies who enjoy watching television or reading to being out and about.

Those born in 1901 and 1961 are Metal Oxen and tend to be strong, hard-working goal oriented individuals who're trustworthy and dependable but unlikely to show emotion. They have difficulty interpreting the feelings of others.

Those born in 1913 and 1973 are Water Oxen and tend to be flexible, sincere, patient, quick thinking and insightful. Generally others enjoy being around them.

Those born in 1925 and 1985 are Wood Oxen and tend to be team players, self-confident, and natural leaders. They can be quick-tempered and outspoken.

Those born in 1937 and 1997 are Fire Oxen and tend to be leaders despite having short fuses and a tendency to be impulsive.

Those born in 1949 and 2009 are Earth Oxen and tend to be successful, diligent individuals. They are reliable and sincere and this makes them likeable.

Oxen are generally healthy and live long, fulfilled lives. Despite working too much, too hard and not relaxing enough. Oxen would do well to plan more recreation and relaxation in their lives.

Oxen are suited to careers such as interior designer, painter, carpenter, quarry worker, archeologist, horticulturist, mechanic, engineer, draftsman, banker, broker, real estate agent and army officer. Vocationally they are methodical, productive working alone, have a keen eye for detail and a good work ethic.

In relationships, Oxen prefer strong, life-long alliances to casual acquaintances. Unlike other signs, Oxen are introverted and rarely participate in group activities. They loathe small talk and don't bother with flirting. Sadly their tendency to be overbearing or place blame on others often causes relationships to break down. They are most compatible with people born in the years of the Rat and Rooster and incompatible with people born in the years of the Tiger and Horse
