Peace and Love

All you need is love. Performed by the Beatles June 25, 1967.

The Beatles sang a phrase, “All You Need is Love” in 1969. They continually chant that one stanza throughout the song and the other being, “Love is All You Need.”  They add that “It’s Easy,” but it is anything but.

When the beginning of the world was formed, Love had already arrived. It came flowing in on a red carpet of course, untangled itself from the coarse veins of hate, and eased on down the road.

Hate was amongst the throngs of paparazzi, and was unrelenting in trying to elicit an autograph from Love. Love was to be silent at this time, as it was mourning what they call a natural disaster, which to Love was not so natural.

In the crowd with Hate was Jealousy, wearing a beautiful green ensemble, eyes darting left and right, spying on others, hoping that somehow, somewhere, there would be a wardrobe malfunction.

Envy was way in the back, craning her neck suspiciously to see what the other entrants would be wearing. Smiling, but not quite feeling it, she hoped for some type of wardrobe malfunction.

Entering in the back entrance was good ol’ Gluttony, poised with a platter of culinary delights. From the back of a van, she led a caravan of goodies carried on the shoulders of “The Morning After” laden with massive quantities of caloric intake, disguised as nutrition, and boxes and boxes of liquid spirits disguised as lite.

Ms. Malicious looked about, muttering to herself, also praying for a wardrobe malfunction.

Mr. Pride just wandered about, refusing any assistance from anyone at all. Mr. Gregoire Greedy Guts, of the Greedy Guts empire in Europe, heir apparent to the Count of Countless Coins, stopped Gluttony at the back door, asked for identification from Gluttony before stuffing caloric-laden goodies in his European satchel.

As the night was about to begin, the introductory music began, and the oohs and aahhhs ceased. Stumbling in late was Miss Make a Late Entrance, teetering on her high horse, breaking a heel in the interim and causing quite a disruption. Although she lost a heel, she gained another notch on her tardy belt, and felt satisfaction enough for this occasion.

As Mr. Emcee came onto the stage, he received a standing ovation. He bowed to his intriguing audience, held up a placard and began to read: “Due to the over crowdedness of this occasion, and to the multitude of unwanted presences and emotions, we would like the following to please take their seats elsewhere, perhaps in the lobby.” Mr. Emcee named off the false nominated emotions and egos, regrettably.

He thanked his audience, and added, “All we need is love.”
