A tangled web of deception
You wove knowing full well
The pain these lies would cause
When eventually the truth did tell

My heart was an open book
Reserved especially for you
The feelings were mutual
Or so I thought it true

Sincerity in your voice
And virtue in your eyes
Willingly I gave to you
My love, no compromise

You played me for fool
And took all you could get
But that wasn't quite good enough
You just weren't finished yet

Any shred of dignity
And self respect I had
Were stole right out from under me
Don't know why you did me so bad

I know I'm not a cover girl
Nor my body to die for
But my words are always genuine
And my soul to you I poured

The motive for your actions
I really don't understand
I'd of given you the moon and stars
And placed them in your hand

I guess it's just your nature
To act with no regard
For another's sense of security
As they faithfully lower their guard

It's over now
Nothing left to say
Just turn around
And walk away

There is something you took from me
It really doesn't seem fair
You see trust is something valuable
And you broke mine beyond repair
