Is God relevant in today's world?

Relevant is defined as: "closely connected or appropriate to the matter at hand" by the New Oxford American Dictionary. It appears that the "matter at hand" is today's world. So, let's take a look at today's world, shall we?

The world today exists in a state of chaos, caused by the various religions that have gained prominence in our time. Yes, that's right. Caused. All sides of the current conflict believe that their own version of God's word is the only truth that one should live by. This is not something that can be disputed by anyone who is a member of one of those religions. To do so would be to give up everything they believe in. Even in America, arguably the most tolerant of countries toward the religions of the world, our Christians do not really believe that Muslims, or Jews, know the truth. The core belief of Christianity is that if you do not believe in, and worship, Jesus, you will not get everlasting life. Dispute this, if you dare.

Unfortunately, it is the same for the others. Actually, Islam is the most tolerant of all belief systems. The Islamic faith may very well say that there is only one God, Allah, and Muhammad is his prophet, but even Muhammad stated that the "Infidels" have a right to their beliefs, even if they are wrong: they will learn the truth in the end, was his take on the situation. Wow, tolerance from a religion. Seems strange in today's world, does it not?

However, the question is does God have relevance in today's world? Well, obviously, though many of us may wish it differently, He does. Or the Gods have relevance. See, I believe that each God is a separate and distinct deity. I know. I'm a pagan and doomed to the Fires of Hell. But nothing else makes sense to me. No matter how the situation works out in the living world, when we die we will find out one of three things.

1. All the possibilities are real. I mean by this that no matter what God you actually believe in, you will find yourself in Heaven surrounded by people who believed something different than you did when you were alive.

Or, 2. Only one of the possibilities was true. Depending on which God, or truth if you prefer, you believe in, you will find yourself in Hell or Heaven accordingly.

Or, 3. That none of them were correct and all there is when you die is a coffin or cremation and no afterlife at all.

So, how can God have any relevance today, other than what each religion gives to him just by existing? The truth is, he, or they,
