It’s been a long time
Three decades and some
A torrent of rain swept you away
Yet the day has come
For us to be one
Teenagers mellow with age
Become middle aged adults
Or some say or ponder
Yet the day has come
For us to be one
To do things people do
When sparks fly
And true love becomes
Like a rapid lake
Reinvent the past
Taste me
Hold me
Show me
That time has aged
What grew from our heart
Long ago
Only this time
No one can tear us a part
We dance for life.
