Fantasy football is a highly intriguing, addicting, and completely unique strategy game. The object of fantasy football is to defeat each of your opponents, eventually leading to the fantasy playoffs. At the beginning of the season, before the NFL season starts, you and your opponents will draft real-life players. You will have running backs, quarterbacks, tight ends, defenses, and kickers, depending on the league. During the season, you will play against opponents online. Before each game, you will place your players into their slots. You will choose a player for each position. Each week, you will play against a different opponent. When your player earns points in real life, your player will earn points in fantasy football. For instance, if your running back would run for twenty yards, you would get two points, depending on how your league scores. If you remain one step ahead of your opponents, you will be hard to defeat in fantasy football.

You can customize your league to make players get points for different aspects of game play. A standard league's point system is as follows: quarterbacks gain points for throwing passes for yards, and for throwing passes for touchdowns. Running backs gain points for running for yards, catching passes for yards, and scoring touchdowns. Tight ends gain points for catching passes for yards and scoring touchdowns. Wide receivers gain points for catching passes for yards and for scoring touchdowns. Defenses gain points for turnovers and for keeping the opponents from scoring. Finally, kickers gain points for kicking field goals.

Before the season, your league will host a draft. Some drafts are online and some take place in a real-life setting. Before the draft, it works well to study the eligible players. Look at their previous statistics, consider their age and the team that surrounds, and look at the expert's advice. If you find players that you think have a considerable amount of promise, circle them. During the draft, you can check off the players that have been drafted to keep everything organized. You generally draft running backs first, then quarterbacks and wide receivers, followed by tight ends, then defenses, and finally kickers.

During the season, you will be playing against different opponents each week. Before the game, make sure your roster is up to date, and make sure none of your players are injured. Also, it is a good idea to watch the games in real life. It can be exciting to watch your players earn points, and you can root for your players. Also, you can watch to see if there are strong players that are performing well. If so, you can pick them up, if they aren't already, from the free agents list.

Overall, if you remain one step ahead of your opponents, you will be well on your way to domination in fantasy football. Before the draft starts each year, look over each player to find prospects that you will consider drafting. With each year of fantasy football, you will become more powerful. If you watch the games and listen to the experts, you can find players who aren't on teams that may outperform the other players in the future. In all, fantasy football is a somewhat simple game, and if you dedicate time and take a few risks, you will be very hard to defeat.
