learned hard lessons in my life about love.
I've learned not to take men at face value. I've learned that sex, although a big part of love, is not the be all and end all. I've learned what not to do when it comes to men. I've learned not to expect a man to make me happy. I've learned that love doesn't stay in the fuzzy, warm place, but is often filled with bitter disillusionment. I have learned that loving another is often hard work, and that I also need to work at it, and nurture it. I learned that there is a fine line between love and hate. I have learned that truly loving someone is accepting them, warts and all. I have learned that there is no 'perfect' man, but then I am not perfect either, and if there was a 'perfect' man, he would also be a very boring man. I have learned that if you stick with it long enough, exciting love often turns into warm, contented love.
No, my marriage isn't perfect. My husband often gets on my nerves, this doesn't mean I don't love him. After all my kids can get on my nerves and I love them.
I guess love means accepting the bad along with the good. Love means standing next to each other as a united front against the hardships of life. Love doesn't mean giving up or running away. Love is steadfast and enduring if it is True Love.
Too many people give up because it is too hard, but you know what?
Nobody ever said that something worth having was easy.
No, love isn't easy, but it's worth it.
