I should have guarded my heart more carefully
Stuck up the signs saying "Handle with Care"
Fragile hearts need looking after
Especially one that has already needed repairs
I believed you would be tender
Be my white knight and defender
Only to realise the truth
You are cold and uncouth
You threw my heart down
Dashed it to the ground
Made light of what you had done
And took off at a run
I wish you the best for the future its true
For bitterness and retribution is not my style
I really hope you don't get treated
The way you did to me
I'll leave it to karma
To give you your rewards
Now I'm left gathering the pieces
Of a heart that is broken
Shattered, battered and forlorn
How i wish I had spoken
And said "Handle with Care"
