Most people start blogging as a hobby, a way to share their opinions and show their love of writing, while others may start blogging as a way of supplementing or creating an income. For those of us who do go into the business of blogging, there are several ways of making money in the blogging game. For some, this job is writing blog posts for others for pay on their site or writing blog posts on your site promoting the products and services of another.
There are many ways to get started as a freelance blogger; the first is to decide whether you will build a blog where others can pay you to post about their products and services or whether you will blog on other people’s website for a fee. There are programs which will help you find customers who need both done, there are companies like payperpost.com and payingpost.com that connect you with companies looking for freelancers that will create blog posts in their niche and add them to their busy blogs. This is especially lucrative if your blog has a lot of traffic and it gives them a link from a valuable website.
For those who want to write on another person's website, you may find these types of jobs on one of the many freelance job boards such as get a Freelancer, Guru, Elance, and many others. These websites usually provide you with job opportunities that you will need to bid on, then if the person buying the products is interested they will contract you to complete blogging assignments. This is actually a great way to make an income and can bring a good writer more than they would have earned at a regular job.
Additionally, there are programs like Gather that have a point system that allows you to earn points for creating your blog posts, which can easily be redeemed for cash. This is a social network with tons of visitors, so making money there is relatively easy. Another program that allows you to make money is Squidoo, which makes it possible for you to create blogs called "Lens" and maintain them like a blog while getting paid for the advertisements that are placed on your site.
Lastly, you can create your own blogs, which you can build to bring in a good income, through advertising from companies like AdSense, Kontera, Bidvertiser, and a ton of other programs. You can also add the ads of other companies that cater to your niche, and get paid affiliate marketing pay. If you love blogging you could stand to make a lot of money doing what you love to do anyway.
