The Ideapad Y530 is a multimedia notebook from Lenovo with great features for those who are looking for true multimedia experience. The significant features of the Ideapad Y530 are surround speakers and subwoofer, HDMI out, touch-sensitive media controls, and a frameless display panel. Also its price is $999 and this is very competitive price compared to many of its rivals.

Ideapad notebook comes with Windows Vista Home Premium (SP1, 32-bit) with an Intel Core 2 Duo processor P7350 (2GHz, 3MB L2 Cache, 1066MHz FSB) and 2GB DDR2 System Memory (2 x 1GB). It is similar to ThinPad notebooks when considering the key design. The design is quite nice with a great color scheme. Once closed it is rarely flex even under a relatively strong pressure. It is very easy to access for upgrading of system parts like RAM, wireless card, processor, and hard drive.

The WXGA display panel of the Lenovo Y530 is rated as average. It possesses a good contrast and bright backlighting. Vertical and horizontal viewing angles are limited. Sometimes these limits may consider as a security feature. Vertical viewing angles are generally narrow and colors are clear before the distortion. But the horizontal angles are better when viewing.

The Keyboard of the IdeaPad Y530 is designed similar to the ThinkPad series with several changes.
