The question; "Is part of the President's job to inspire the American people?" The quick answer; "Of course it is part of the President's job to inspire the American people!"
Any American citizen that meets the qualifications to run for the Office of the President of the United States and then actively runs for that Office, is empowered by their dream , a dream that they have the ability to offer "something" to the people of America that will benefit them. That "something" varies with the candidate, with the time in history, with the perceived needs of the American people.
With their dream firm in their mind and heart, the candidate's belief in self takes root, and a vision born is glimpsed by many. That American, one of "WE the People" (from the Constitution), so empowered by their dream and belief in self, takes positive action to communicate their vision to their countrymen successfully. When the majority of "WE the People" hear and see the vision of the candidate, and the candidate is successful in getting the majority of US to accept their vision as one WE share, the majority elects the candidate to be OUR next President (at least that's the way WE believe it to be).
Now think about that; the candidate, probably wasn't even well known to the majority at the beginning, that candidate then went on to successfully inspire US to listen to and then share a vision for what "could be" for America (a Nation of "WE the People). WE heard it, saw it, believed it, and made the opportunity available to the candidate and to ourselves to become reality by electing them to be OUR President. That person is in the Office of the President because they inspired US to action, would WE now expect less of that person having entrusted him / her with the job? Of course not, if anything, WE would expect and even demand more!
As OUR Leader, OUR President, WE would expect him / her to carry out all duties of the Office as established by the "Law" as set fourth in the Constitution of the United States willfully, and with due diligence. WE would expect and demand that as OUR President all actions taken, all decisions made, were honorable. WE would expect and demand truthfulness, honesty, and focus on all things that were and are in the best interests of "WE the People".
Being so focused on a "shared vision" (a vision that WE believed, shared, and made possible with OUR vote), WE would expect the President to further inspire US as difficulties were experienced while in Office. As disasters occurred or dangerous situations developed, WE would expect the President to provide guidance and inspire US to action, action that would be beneficial to "WE the People". As OUR President, OUR Leader, OUR Voice to the World (the Family of Man), WE expect OUR Voice to inspire acts that will benefit Our Family of Man.
We are all significant, have a purpose, each and every one of us. Would not each of us, our families, OUR towns, OUR cities, OUR States, OUR Nation, Our World be better if each and every one of us looked within our minds and hearts, found our true passion, pursued it and inspired all others to do the same? How could WE all not benefit the good that would come of it?
"Is part of the President's job to inspire the American people?" Absolutely, and OURS also, because it's the right thing to do and it benefits all in OUR family of man! Shall WE begin?
