In the world of professional sports, professional wrestling is one that is different from the others. Unlike others, they have admitted to being pre-determined. Fake would be the wrong word because of the fact that there are injuries that can happen and sometimes a spot can happen where there can be an injury that can see a performer out for an unknown amount of time and it could be something minor to severe. There are some notable differences from other sports in the world today.
There is no off-season for the performers to rest up. If anything, it would have to be considered making them out to be the toughest of all of them considering the fact they do not have any time off and have to continue to perform about 300 days a year. It is something that is not for everyone and some people have gotten so paranoid over the fact they could lose a spot in the top spot.
In sports like football or baseball, there is an off-season and of course there is the Fall League and also Winter Ball for those who are looking to continue playing even longer. There can be injuries but they do not tend to have to worry about losing spots unless the replacement is doing a better job. There are injuries that do happen in there as well and it can be from anything. It is one of those things that has to be looked at as well.
With wrestling, there are also injuries but sometimes can be minor and the performers may have to perform and of course it can be major. Neck injuries have happened and of course careers have ended instantly without question. Sometimes it can be a case of ending a career. There are referee’s of course.
Football is one that generally sees a team play once a week. Not very often does a team play two days a week but then get over a week off. There is a bye week of course to give them some time to rest up of course. After the playoffs and the Super Bowl, there is the off-season to rest up and of course heal up from any minor injuries or make decisions on what they want to do with their lives.
Wrestling doesn’t seem to have people be very serious on retirement. It seems like whenever retirement is mentioned, it can be a case of not really meaning it and used for a storyline purpose. In that sense, it really is something that doesn’t have much else that can be added about it.
