Self-reflection: Conversations with myself

To converse with one's self is an important aspect of working out feelings that are deep within the soul. I have always made a habit of talking to myself. Of course I don't walk around talking incoherently, or, at least I don't think I do. No one has appraised me of this situation, and if I was talking aloud to no one in particular I am sure it  would cause a stir. That being said, my conversations to myself are done inconspicuously.

My conversing to myself has always been without any one knowing.  A reflection of  the past, working out the issues of today, and discussion of the future. The last one can be a little tricky, because, no one really knows what the future may hold, and all the conversation about it may not mean a thing. If we focus on what is important to us through out the course of our lives we will be better equipped to handle the many  situations we encounter.

I ponder on many things, and find solace in the quiet  times when I can be alone with my thoughts. I find it  therapeutic to reflect on issues that play a major role in everyday existence. Although it can sometimes be a "two edged sword" when too much time is devoted to the past, and mistakes that were made. This thinking , can be draining on the spirit. But we can take solace in believing we  all have transgressions that we may not be proud of. Realizing the fact that nothing can be done to change the past, we can  try to  see  each situation as a learning experience, that  can be used as a building block for the present. In this regard we can better understand our capabilities and our inner thoughts,

It is important to note that sometimes we may be our toughest critics. I know from experience that  talking  things out to my inner self, may increase the guilt, of not doing what was always right. As I find myself in this situation I can again discuss with myself that the feeling of guilt will only damage the spirit and not do any good to me nor the people I am around.  I need to get past that and focus on the helpful positive things that can be enlightening to me.

I learned at a young age that there is a great deal of time spent alone. I was an only child, and although  I had many friends, and a great support system I did know that I was not able to  escape myself, and I only had me to depend on
