Friend or enemy, how would you be able to recognize the difference?
Is it the seemingly little things? Would a friend be there for you when in need?
Most of us can say that a so-called friend has put a gigantic knife in our spine some time or another. No doubt we would be able to say that we have been a friend or are a friend to someone. Are there any tell tell signs that someone is truly a friend?
The number one neccesity in a relationship that bonds it like glue is LOVE. True love is what makes a friend. No jealousy is involved when one or the other persons moves a step forward. There is no room for envy with love. Selfish interests belong outside of a true friendship. A true friend would always treat a friend as he/she would want to be treated.
No one wants to be used only to be thrown away like yesterdays garbage when times get tough. A true friend will stick like glue, like a brother.
There will be times of disagreement, but it would never be because of a selfish act. As mentioned earlier, there is no room for selfish interests in a true friendship. To illustrate: would a friend male/female sleep with your significant other? Would a true friend take money from you that was borrowed and not pay it back, knowing you need it for a bill or something of neccesity? Would a true friend have money or food or clothes seeing that you have nothing to your name and tell you to have a blessed day? And in return not supply you with what he or she could have supplied you with? Would a true friend say, I don't owe him or her anything?
There are a million and one scenerios, but the prinicpal of them remain the same. True friends love each other and treat each other how they themselves want to be treated.
If everyone did this, there would be many true friends. But sad to say, that is not the case. Nontheless, these are definite ways to recognize a true friend.
