Poetry: Let me be myself

by Ree Holt

Created on: January 22, 2010

Can I really ask you to let me be me?  Do I judge you when you are you? I think not, so why can't I ask for you to let me be me!  You must admit when I am myself, I am intriguing, exciting, and carefree, a true treat to be around.  I must admit I try to walk in his image, but life's trials make it hard at times.  I like to unwind and then let you find that I also have a calm-mannered side to me.  Some say it seems almost like a Bi-polar treat.  Foolishness I say.  We all are made up of two people who's energy and characteristics create us, so of course we have different personalities that make us who we are.  I enjoy being in my skin.  I rejoice that I can collect so many friends that cherish and adore me.  I do benefit from being me, so please do the same and let me be me!
