Featuring an intriguing combination of comedy and drama, Julie and Julia is an inspirational movie with an all-star cast and an interesting plot. The movie was directed by Nora Ephron, produced by Laurence Mark, Nora Ephron, Eric Steel, and Amy Robinson, and written by Nora Ephron. It stars Meryl Streep Amy Adams, Stanley Tucci, Chris Messina, Linda Emond, Jane Lynch, Mary-Lynn Rajskub, Vanessa Ferlito, and Casey Wilson. Julie and Julia is a very original and unique movie, as it introduces a story that is completely different than most of the other movies on the current market. Although it won't appeal to many viewers, it is definitely a unique and inspiring movie. It will keep you intrigued from the beginning to end.
The plot features two different main characters. The first, Julia Child, is still trying to find her spot in life. She is happy where she lives, in France, as she is a large fan of simply eating food. However, she is still longing for something. She loves to cook, but can't seem to find any cookbooks about French cuisine that was printed in English. The movie follows her story, and it cuts back to the second main character also. The second featured character is Julie Powell. She is at a part of her life where she is also longing for something. She is living with her husband in a small apartment over a pizza shop. She goes to work every day at an insurance agency. However, her life is almost without meaning. Every day she seems to do the same bland thing over and over. The only thing that she enjoys to do is cook. It is a way for her to escape the stress of her life. Her inspiration is Julia Child, and she thoroughly enjoys cooking from her book. She decided to start a blog on the internet that follows her as she goes through Julia Child's cook book. Although she doesn't expect hardly anyone to read it, she does it because Julia was such an inspiration to her, and she wants something to do to escape the stress of life. The entire movie follows Julie and Julia as they try to find their spot in the world, and how they escape their every day life through cooking.
Overall, Julie and Julia is a truly original and intriguing movie. Meryl Streep did a spectacular job playing the role of Julia Child, a spunky and lively woman who thoroughly enjoys to cook and eat. Amy Adams did a very nice job portraying Julie Powell, a young woman who is also trying to find meaning in her life. Although Julie and Julia won't appeal to many of its viewers, it is a truly unique movie. Many of the current movies are beginning to look the same. It is a breath of fresh air to have a movie such as this one. In all, Julie and Julia is a truly inspirational and interesting movie.
