A Lonely Man.
She said "You'll die,
a lonely man;
bitter, sad
and insecure."
She said,
"You were not
the only man to
ever come
to her for all
the answers."
You took your
chances;
and now, you refuse ~
to listen to the truth...
and now, all you
ever wanted -
is slipping
from your grip;
Lost, looking for
your love -
and you don't know,
what she's done -
with it...
Hypochondriatic;
hypocrite -
She's run -
She's run away,
with it.
She escaped your
loving leers;
just long enough to
dry her tears and
feel the heat,
of the day ~
to hear happy
voices of
children at play -
for a moment today -
she was free.
The wind touched her skin;
fresh air, lifted her hair -
suddenly, she was
aware;
Instead of living it up;
she was giving up;
on her life.
Lonely, bitter -
and insecure...
intertwined -
you and I;
Tell me how
to forget -
What she said;
how I wept -
to learn
that she slept
in our bed. -
I know you lied,
and you tried,
to mess with
my head!
Have you forgotten;
how rotten,
you can be?
Hitting bottom
then climbing -
on top of me;
continuously
hurting me,
you know that
you're murdering
me inside -
and I'm desperate
to survive...
this lonliness.
Are you pretending
to be pleasent -
to keep me from
leaving -
Sometimes I think
you would like to
keep me
from breathing -
but then, you know;
you'd be just another
lonely man...
Do you think
you can continue
to control; and
to degrade and
decieve?
Well, I don't
think so Buddy,
and neither does she.

THE BALLAD OF THE OLD MAN
“Hey kids, get off my lawn.”
The little old man said
“Kids, they have no respect,
The lonely man
he sits and wonders
where all his friends went.
He sits at the table
ledger in hand
and sees all the money
Three square and a call,
Then where were you?
Lonesome and all;
All by alone, I mean all alone.

"A Lonely Man"
All day long
He circles the parking lots
Picking up anything he can find
Anything sellable
His headphones
by J.B. Hickock
He felt the soft sunlight fall across his shoulders like a warm blanket,
He heard the tinkling of the brook like the laughter
