I'm sure many of you will agree that this issue is right to be debated. It is not an exact science, and never will be. However, there are many factors which fly the flag for weight loss supplements.

Like quitting cigarettes, or other addictions, using a weight loss product can aid ones success. Look at the success of companies such as Slim Fast, Herbalife, Slimming World etc. Think they make all their money from scamming people and selling placebos? No, neither do I. In fact, I KNOW they don't. This is because I know enough about nutrition for starters.

Did you know that roughly 70% of people who go to the doctor are going with a problem stemming from poor nutrition? That's right. 70%. Being overweight, believe it or not, is another result of poor nutrition. These days, not many people believe that overweight people are simply greedy, that they eat too much. I know many overweight people who eat only one or two meals a day. Clearly dieting isn't necessary for them.

Why are they overweight then? Because they don't exercise? Wrong. It is because they most likely have damaged their intestines somewhere along their lives. Drinking coffee, alcohol, smoking, breathing in pollution, all damage your stomach and intestine's ability to properly absorb correct nutrition and properly defend against the bad ingredients in food. Many weight loss supplements contain ingredients designed to rebuild your body from the inside, before working on the outside, ingredients such as Aloe Vera concentrate, or protein.

"What's that? Protein? I want to lose weight not gain it!" Well, of course you do, but you need protein. I'll explain it very simply here. Fat cells retain calories. Muscles burn calories, and in turn burn fat. Protein builds muscles. More muscle is more calorie burn.

"But still, I can just go to the gym more right? I don't need to waste money on these supplements." Wrong again I'm afraid, what happens when you go to the gym or go for a jog? You get hungry, and you eat. Since you have already burned off a lot of calories you aren't likely to do anymore exercise that day, so your food goes towards the fat cells again, unless it is high in protein like weight loss supplements are. Oh, and don't forget that the money you spend on additional after-exercise food is probably more expensive than these supplements too.

Not only this, but weight loss supplements usually come with a "maintanence plan" which helps keep your body in very good shape and helps
