I am a Christian, and I am straight (no, I’m not gay, nor bisexual); however, this question actually made me laugh out loud when I read it.

Why would a someone who is gay be unable to be Christian?  I am not completely read up on the Bible’s instructions in this area, but to my knowledge, sexual sin is sexual sin.  I have read passages that seem to say  that homosexuality is sin, but not that it means one is not a Christian or that they are doomed to Hell for it.  Asking if a Christian can be gay is kind of like asking if a Christian can be an adulterer, isn’t it?  Sex is sex.  God may not have made man for man, nor woman for woman, but  sex is generally(if not exactly physically) the same all the way around, is it not?  The emotions are there; the physical connection is there; some degree of intimacy, arousal, lust, sensation, touching, and penetration.

There are a few passages that I’ve seen that mention intimate relations with same sex partners that many use to point to homosexuality being a sin.  I, myself, believe the Bible to be 100% true as the inspired word of God, and try to follow it as best I can; being as I am fallen and a sinner in my own right, this isn’t always easy.  Leviticus 18:22 says, ““Do not practice homosexuality, having sex with another man as with a woman. It is a detestable sin.” (New Living Translation).  Note the word “sin” in this context.  In other translations it says, “it is an abomination” or “it is detestable.”  That scripture goes on to say that they should be put to death for the abominable act committed.  Which, as I recall, was the general punishment for sexual immorality of any kind, is that not right?  In Romans 1:26-27 it is stated, “26 That is why God abandoned them to their shameful desires. Even the women turned against the natural way to have sex and instead indulged in sex with each other. 27 And the men, instead of having normal sexual relations with women, burned with lust for each other. Men did shameful things with other men, and as a result of this sin, they suffered within themselves the penalty they deserved.” (NLT)  The penalty being the penalty for lust, and fornication and not, I daresay, simply the fact that they are homosexual.  Of course, I do not presume to be able to read the mind of God, nor understand
