Heavy dusty velvet
folded on the leather chair
Over the tears the cat scratched in
The scratches are still there
Just like they've always been
We take that velvet and let it billow
You hold your end, I hold mine
Wave it 'til the fibers fly off
Saturate this fluorescent haze
Snuff out the industrial daylight officer
That never blinks an eye
Velvet, spin your black about
grant us our dear darkness
Break the bulbs, pull the plugs
Leave just a flickering wick
standing meekly by the night
pointing at the infinite depth
of the black of its eyes
And velvet settles, velvet rests
We climb beneath and gaze
Into a fleeting moment disappear
Dissolved into the darkness
Like we've always been here

Poetry: The darkness is ours
Let's be black-haired twins again
and do that shaded eye look thing
Scream with the emo-grunge crowd
and taste his vodka bottled
Darkness belongs all to us, & not ever to God,
but he shod us with darkness, to prod our nod.
We must agree with God,

How delicately
You tiptoe
Around my terror, Fairy presence.
How kindly
You indulge me,
Collude I know not your existence

Heavy dusty velvet

Over the tears the cat scratched in
The scratches are still there
Just like
Vampires in the Night
We creep in places dim and dark.
In every alley, every park.
We hide in shadows of the night.
