Reaching for the Light of Winter
She sat back and waited. It had been two hours. Waiting, she kept on seeing on her Gucci watch over and over. “Maybe I should wait for a little bit longer,” she said in uncertainty. The street lamp was no longer turned off – winter sun hid faster that day and the lamp had started to turn on automatically. The snow began to fall, gave the girl breezy feeling. She rubbed her hands one to another, and zipped her jacket. “God, winter is getting colder these days,” thought her. The snow kept on falling. Now the empty bench beside her had covered by snow. Paying too much attention for the time (He was still not coming); she didn’t even realize that the snow rain was getting heavy. More minutes passed by, there finally a bus stopped across the street. A wide smile shaped on her blushing face. Couldn’t wait any longer, She ran toward the bus to see him coming out.
“It’s... empty. The bus... is empty,” said her when she saw no one came out of the bus. Her blushing face now turned into pale. “Where do you wanna go ma’am?” asked the bus driver.
“Tell me where you wanna go. I’ll take you there directly. The snow is getting heavy... I guess I’ll just go home afterwards.”
“No... It’s just... nothing. Thanks for your offer, but I’m here just waiting for someone”
“I see... Well I suggest you to come home right now. It will become a snowstorm I believe. Your face is now turning blue. Don’t you feel the cold?”
“Yes. Actually it is kinda cold out here...”
“Kinda? Nope ma’am, it is deadly cold!”
“I will go home now. Thanks.”
Leaving the bus, the girl was running back to the bench she was sitting. The bus itself was running fast through the snow fall and turning left to 301 street. She sat back again for a while. She thought that day would be the day. But unfortunately it was just another sadly day. The cold was biting hard. She finally decided to stood up and run back home.
