Many will not agree with me, however I have loved the Eagles since the early 70s and my love for their music has never changed. The Eagles have always been my favorite group. Not only for the sound of the music have they produced. In addition, each member of the group is in tune with the world and does his part to help make our world a better place to live. The Eagles often use their music to help keep the public aware of political, humane, or environmental issues, and act to help protect or revolutionize an issue. For that reason, I enjoy the music the Eagles make together and respect the men who bring us their gifts of awareness, and the musical talent share with their fans over the last 30 plus years.
When the Eagles disbanded, I was upset, although I did see Don Henley in concert, I was sad that I would never be able to see them in concert as a group. I had to give up my dream of ever seeing the group together, they had all gone their separate ways. I heard the band was getting back together, I made it clear to everyone no matter what before I died I was going to see the Eagles live.
I do not remember exactly when the band regrouped, I do know I was at work when I heard the news and started jumping and shouting, I managed a bar in Las Vegas,(my hometown) and people thought I was crazy. They came to Las Vegas at a time I lived there and my brother had an extra ticket for me to see them. However, I was so sick that night I could not go, I cried for days. I figured at that time I had lost my chance of ever seeing them. The tickets are expensive, and I was not sure I would ever be able to afford the tickets, or if they would ever be in my area again. So for years I have told everyone all I want before I die is to see the Eagles.
I now live in San Diego, and while surfing the web I noticed the Eagles would be in Los Angeles in April. As soon as I read that I began checking on ticket prices only to find out with my income there would be no way I could afford the tickets. I told my boyfriend and we both agreed the tickets were too expensive so once again resigned myself that I would never see them. I do not believe there is a bigger fan than me. My son is now 30. At age two he could sing most every word to most all of their songs, that is all I listened to all day everyday he learned them. The two of us would dance and sing to the eight track tapes I had of the Eagles. My son and I would dance and sing to the Eagles every day.
For Christmas, my boyfriend surprised me with tickets to see the Eagles! I could not believe it! I cried...I know that may sound silly to some. However, I have been a fan since the early 1970s so I totally freaked out. All I have to do now is not dying before April and my long-time wishes and dream will finally come true. I can hardly wait until April. So, look forward to a critic once I return from the concert. Therefore, I believe I can say to be continued!
Update! on April 16th I finally went to see the Eagles, they were amazing, they sound as good in person as they of on their albums! Joe Walsh is on tour with them and he is amazing and funny. I finally received the greatest gift anyone has ever given me, and I loved every minute of the three hour concert! They sound exactly as they did in the 1970s. However, like all of us they no long look the way they did in the 1970, but then again none of us do...and I think they look even better now!
