Poetry: Picking up the pieces

by Barbara Stockton

Created on: January 17, 2010   Last Updated: September 19, 2010

I look at the mirror

the shattered pieces

each piece shining back

reflecting my life

each one holds a piece of my soul

a memory, long forgotten

a childhood, long gone

the birth of children, long grown

the loss of a parent, sorely missed

many good time

some hard times

life always changing

and me with it

Slowly I gather up the pieces of my life

and start over again.
