A Crooked Halo (An Angel Across The Sea)

On a distant shore,
Far across a vast pond,
A star twinkles
In the dark of night,
An owl bravely
Beckons the
Milky Way
Calling for
shelter from
A Nightmare's
Storm.

Her wings,
though tattered
and worn,
Flutter against
The Night's air,
While Daytime
Clouds surrender
Their white
to the blue-black
Of evening,
Wisps of dreams
Float to meet
Heaven's face.

She whispered
Softly,
To the ear
of Music,
Her harp,
Sweetly played
Amidst lights
of Gold.
Her halo
A bit crooked
But her
Heart,
A platter
Full of Grace.

And she called
me ... Friend
Reaching across
An ocean
Deep and wide.
Here,
She said
I give you
My clouds.
Ride
With me.
T'is a journey
New.
For I have
But only a
Crooked Halo
And my hand
To extend.
But
I offer them
To you.

Hearts and hands,
Reaching far,
Slipping through
Time,
Slivers of life
Touching each other
Find a roost
And together
Friends embrace
But save for
The Joy of
A solitary
Light.
Save for the
Throne
Of a Crooked halo,
Two souls
of sisters
Unite.
