Quiet, is it a characteristic trait, charismatic talent, or a learned behavior? What are the benefits of being quiet in the work place and what are the dangers and risk? People will notice you no matter what you don’t say, what you wear or how quiet you are and basically they will talk about you all the same whether it is nice or bullying.
If an employee is coming to work on time, well organized, working diligently, complying with company policies, is it necessary for them to be conversationalist? For extremities, one should not bare their soul in the work place but for kinship, it is a common courtesy to share some mundane information about your personal life or career objectives.
Being quiet does not make you different nor does it set you apart. Like cosmetics, accessories, and shoes, it is part of your appearance. Does a quiet person wear quiet clothing? Are the lips of a quiet person anticipating a question or riffling closure. Are their eyes probing discernment, too robotic, and systematic?
Is a quiet person a transparency of low self-esteem or is being quiet self-amusement and gratification. Quiet can also be associated with the character traits of being intelligent but stereotyped as silent aggressiveness.
How does a quiet person secure employment? They give the appearance of having a stable lifestyle, education requirements, and impeccable professional references.
Many quiet people work in jobs that require them to make presentations like company orientation, teaching workshops, and job screening and new employee training programs. Their attributes are productivity as staying on topic and meeting standards and requirements.
Bring out the best in a quiet employee is to value their strength and show support for weakness. When we are ill, we value a quiet and sensitive responder and when we have recovered, we need quiet, discipline, and an adventurous spirit to remind us that we are vulnerable.
The quiet employee sells expensive things and the outgoing personality sells glamour while the guys in the middle sell insurance. The quiet employee is not eccentric or extraordinary or of a rare commodity. Many work places are staffed with quiet employees who need stimulation from the ranks of leadership to jumpstart their enthusiasm and promote productivity.
Some times, we do feel gipped by quiet employees who are fun and outgoing away from the work place but that is their distinction between work and play. They are capable of leaving their problems out of the work place and not taking work home. Some people are challenged to have the best of both worlds and enjoy close co-worker friendships.
