I thought it was going to be a blessed new year.

A new year of happiness and good life.

A new year  where my resolutions were to  be fulfiled.

A new year of hope ,a new year of plenty and good health.

I thought I had seen the second decade of the twenty first century.

This new year is the worst in my life.

This new year is the  most cruel of all the years,

I have seen come and go.

It is a  new year of misery and suffering to the people of Haiti,

it is a new year of  the unexpected and untold suffering.

It is a new year of  broken hearts. 

My heart goes to you all the people of Haiti,in this tryiing moment.

2010  is the most cruel new year to  the Haitians.

This earthquake  has robbed me of great friends,

Sisters and brothers,

Mothers and daughters,

Husbands and wives,

Uncles and aunts.

My only hope is to appeal to whole world,

For a helping hand.

My only hope of survival is from the generous hand that gives.

My only hope of a shelter ,

Is that tent donated by you well wishers.

A new year of  misery, a new year of sorrow to the Haitians.

Help thy neighbour,

May we all respond to this call and help the Haitians.
