Gift ideas for your horse, I love buying my horse things for him I know he enjoys what I buy. There are things I consider more of my gift to myself than him. I have gotten countless amounts of different treats for him to try, Certain tack, a blanket. There so much you can get for your horse. Since in the military I find myself getting my horse gift almost once a month since I used to not be able get him much. He had all hand me downs nothing new which was fine I never cared but I know he was happy not to have the plain metal bits now he has all copper mouth.

Tack, some horses don't care especially if you think of yourself when buying but if you think about your horses back when buying a saddle and make sure it is going to be comfortable than it is a gift. I have had a saddle that was so incorrect it through my horses hip out. So I got a broken tree saddle. Somethings if you know where to look or you have friends who are pack rats of everything horse you can usually find some tack they maybe happy to part with as my friends were.

Treats, I love buying treats. Some disapprove of treats given but to me my horse to me deserves every bit.  love buying from SmartPak™.com they have some neat Bran Mashes that I give like Old Timer recipe which is great if your horse has ache joints my horse was on this when he through out his hip. They have some other great treats like the gingerbread men made out of sweet feed. Or my horses favorite treat Stud muffins.

I have also gotten a new turn out blanket so he can have something that actually keeps him dry and a that has a neck protector instead of a hood since he has bad luck with hoods. He loves it, or so I believe since he never gives a hard time about it. It has everything it has sweat wicking material on the inside with shoulder guards to keep from rubbing and a 2 year warranty and if it gets ripped just turn it in and they will send you a new one the best $100 I spent.

The best kind of gift I beleive for any horse is you the owner the best gift that you can give your horse is your love and appreciation of your horse. The care you give every day by taking care of his feet, his teeth, when he is sick we stay out all day walking them checking vitals, they are our companions as we are theirs, they are our partners who we trust to go over the jump, to take on trail and have no problem they look to us as leaders and to them that is probably the best gift for them that they are being taken care of and loved. They really don't care about how their blanket looks or the tack they wear they just want to know we are there. I now have the money to spend but it is more for me to give to my horse in appreciation to what he is done for me but I know he never cared how used and abused his blanket was or the tack that was mismatched when I first got him and I could only get what I could afford he didn't mind I had to rig up a bridle since his head was too small. He just never cared as long as I give him his treat and take him on trails which is his all time favorite thing in the world he is content. He probably likes that I take a part of my day just to sit and watch him play with the filly we have or when he was the only horse not mind that we would take a break from riding and rest under a tree.
