Suggestions for rebuilding Haiti

We need Transparency.

Set up organizational plans for all those rescue teams, agencies and constructions companies that are coming to Haiti to help out. Set up an organization in Haiti that will be responsible for transparency of all those monies that are being offered to Haiti for help. That organization must pronounce publicly every penny that they have received to help Haiti.

We encourage the media to get involved and make certain that these organizations are held accountable for the distribution of every cent. This money should be used to help the Haitian people and the reconstruction of the country.

Set up whistle-blower teams that will investigate and warn the public about those fraudulent donation centers. There will be folks benefiting from this disaster by taking donations that will not be accounted for. For that we encourage the American Institute of philanthropy to get involved, as well as the Better business Bureau.

We also asked that people question the organization they have chosen to give money to. Find out how  your money will be spent, and how much the organization have received so far.

There are many organizations that are set up to receive donations, some are well known and others are not. For example you can donate to MOI. Regardless of their reputations and size, they must demonstrate the urge for transparency.

Set up tents outside the city for those who are injured and displaced. Move everyone who is roaming the streets outside the city into those tents. Try our best to evacuate the city as much as possible so that those who are in need of serious help can easily be triaged and get the help they need.

Set up websites or communication panels to display information for those who are receiving care and those whom unfortunately did not make it.

Collect the names of those whose homes were destroyed to avoid deceptions, if in case we choose to help rebuilt those homes that were destroyed. Wipe out all those little homes that are built on top of each other to set up a platform for reconstruction and better access to major roads.

During the reconstruction of Haiti, built a community for those people outside the city. Set up an independent electrical grid for those communities as wind and solar energy are plentiful in Haiti. People of Haiti should not have to pay for electricity when the energy sources that produces it are plentiful in nature.

Haiti needs a lot but to begin, we can start with roads and bridges, hospitals, doctors, nurses,
