Rapidly increasing tuition, fees and costs for college textbooks coupled with declining state and federal financial aid for college can make attending a Texas college or university an expensive proposition. Private merit scholarships for women can be welcome resources for helping to meet the costs of higher education for women in Texas. Graduate scholarships and undergraduate scholarships can help reduce the prospect of facing repayment of high student loans after graduation.
As one of the largest states in America, it is no surprise to find that there are numerous private foundations and organizations in the State Texas that award substantial numbers of merit scholarships and grants. Many of them are designated specifically as scholarships for women and awarded annually to deserving female students who have been accepted for enrollment or are attending Texas institutions of higher education.

These organizations offer one to six scholarships annually worth $1,000 to $5,000 per academic year.
