The Music In My Head
In my head, no voices heard,
but music rules my world
It plays for me its whispered
song, a lullaby unfurled.
At times it pounds a metal beat,
that unleashes my animal.
It puts a rhythm to heartbeat.
Lustful pounding assaults moral.
Folksy rhythms warm my heart
with fried chicken for the soul
that I feed upon while Mozart
completes me and makes me whole.
But the hymns from my youth
reverberates the truth
that long has lost it's glow
fades into the watercolor
of what I used to know.
