How to pick shoes for infants

No doubt those tiny baby shoes are adorable; so how cute do you think will that child of yours look with them? That is probably a question that might not stay unanswered.

Letting your baby go barefoot is the best way to allow the proper development of the feet. In fact, many pediatricians recommend waiting to put shoes on your baby’s feet until they have learned how to walk. In addition, learning how to walk with shoes might take longer than learning how to walk barefoot. After that, getting use to the shoes should be not problematic.

In order to keep those little tiny toes warm, the best option is always to use socks or cloth booties; they will work without restricting the movement of your child’s toes and feet.

The main job of the shoes is to protect the feet from being hurt and to avoid dirt, as well to provide a better gripping in surfaces that otherwise would be very slippery, making them essential for the outdoors.

While you still want your baby to walk around your home barefoot while outdoors or in other people’s houses, is better to have him or her with shoes.

Picking up shoes for an infant is not that hard, that is if you don’t let your eyes do the job for you; otherwise choosing between all those really cute options maybe a problem.

When looking for your infant’s first pair of shoes, you must look for a flexible type of shoe that is soft and lightweight; the kind that will make you child feel like if he or she was not wearing any.

They also need to be properly and correctly fitted, remember that your baby’s feet grow very fast and not only a tightly fitted shoe will be outgrown faster, but it will also interrupt the correct grow of your child’s feet.  At the same time a shoe that is too big will cause your son or daughter to trip and fall. Avoid shoes that will hinder movement, also any shoes that leave red marks or sores on your baby’s feet.

Usually the difference between each size is one third of an inch, while half sizes differ by one sixth of an inch; therefore buying a shoe that is one size bigger should be appropriate; this will allow about two or even three months of usage.

Do not worry about your baby having flat feet, this is perfectly normal and common on infants and toddlers, in fact, most children will develop them late in their childhood between four to six years of age. Flat feet in little kids is party caused by the fatty deposits that lay along the bottom of the foot and the lack
