Poetry: War in Iraq

by Barbara Stockton

Created on: January 14, 2010   Last Updated: January 18, 2010

They march two by two

off to war they go

they travel far to other countries

in there uniforms with gun at their sides

they go to fight for peace

they go to make the world a better place

a better place for our children

a better place for their children

they fight to make the world a better place

they die to bring peace to the world

Their families cry and remember

their pride does not replace their loss

the names added to losses of other wars

War after war after war

on and on and on

till peace is all that's left
