The Struggle From Within

I am fine.
I am great.
Wretched impulses come strong,
No one is a Saint.
Normality is measured with each breath I take.
Breathe In, Breathe Out, Are you still there?
Pride is not measurable, must hold it in.
Moments like these are frustrating, all I do is care.
How is this a problem?
The crime is caring too much
Sometimes all I want is for someone to listen,
Quit using Xanax as a crutch.
I sit alone in a cubicle,
I try to get my thoughts straight.
Monkey, get out of my head, get off of my back.
All I feel for you is hate.
I take these blue pills to get you out of my life
When I awake, you are back.
The medication is my totalitarian dictator.
I am a tree and you're a lumberjack.
If a tree is alone in the woods and cries for help,
Does anyone hear?
I would hope the answer is yes,
For, I am not the only one who shall shed a tear.
