If your craving a little something spicy and some succulent tender meat; Here's an option for you. It's a family favorite of ours!
Roast- (one large enough to feed everyone, but keep in mind once cooked it will shrink)
3lbs bag of Potatoes
2 small bags of Carrots
2-3 onions ( I prefer Vidalia)
Celery-optional
1 large bottle of Worstershire Sauce
Salt, Pepper and Garlic Salt
2 cups rice.
Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees.
Peel and Cut potatoes (either in wedges or circles) place in a bowl.
Cut onions in either wedges or circles place in bowl
Wash carrots and place in bowl.
Wash and cut celery into wedges and place in bowl.
Take Roast out of packaging and place in roasting pan or cutting board. Using either a fork or a knife, stab roast until both sides are covered in holes. This tenderizes the meat and also allows juices to seep into the whole roast and not just the outside.
*In roasting pan, place roast in first covering with a thick layer of each seasoning.(Salt, Pepper and Garlic Salt) Then add your vegetables.
*Add water to cover nearly all food in pan.
*Add Half bottle of Worstershire Sauce.
*Cover pan and cook for 3 1/2 hrs.
*Remember to occasionally stir and keep water level to at least half preventing meal from burning.
*In the last half hour to hour add the remainder of Worstershire sauce. ( During cooking time, you may have had to add water which diluted Worstershire Sauce)
*Also, check your vegetables and make sure they are tender. Using a fork to test them. Just slice each vegetable in half and taste test. Taste the juice as well. This will tell you whether you need to add any more seasoning.(Salt, Pepper or Garlic Salt)
*If you desire a stronger flavor, add another half to whole bottle of Worstershire Sauce.
*Put your Rice on to cook. Your Rice should be done by the time you are ready to take your Roast out of the oven.
*Cooking times will vary depending on size of roast. However, the longer you cook a roast the more tender it will be.
* Don't worry if your vegetables aren't done within three hours, your baking so cooking them to tenderness will take time. Just remember to continue checking them every 15-30 minutes.
* Voila- Once your meal is done, get prepared to receive numerous compliments. The Worstershire sauce gives the meal the spicy taste that is sure to please.
The roast will be tender enough to pull off with your fingers! And each bite will be as succulent as the last!
